Anchor Text Targeting or How to Balance Writing for SEO and Actual Readers
This morning I saw an article in Read Write Web(RWW) talking about Pitney Bowe’s latest move to convert your physical mail to digital documents. That article linked to an interesting sounding service called MindTouch. Clicking on the anchor text ‘MindTouch’ took me to another article on the same blog which talked about MindTouch and its services. The article was so well done that it compelled me to want to learn more about MindTouch. The only problem was that I didn’t see any links to MindTouch. Here’s a screen shot:

Search Engines are not Static
I have been involved in Search Engine Optimization for over 10 years now and one concept that clients continue to struggle with is that Search Engines and the Web are in a constant state of change. Instead of this view most clients look at SEO work as the same that they used to look at the Yellow Pages where they paid a rate and their advertisement showed up on its page.
A shift in thinking needs to occur here for a few reasons:
- Ranking on the first page today does not guarantee tomorrow

Link Building 101 – Page-Rank
In 1998 a couple of Grad students at Stanford created the beginnings of what would become Google. Larry Page and Sergey Brin were working on a project that would allow researchers to utilize the World Wide Web in a more effecient method. What they created would eventually take over the Web and change marketing forever.
